Korghos Khul

Korghos Khul was carving his legend into the Realm of Fire before the Age of Chaos had a name. Warlord of the Goretide, he broke the kingdoms of the Great Parch one after another, his rust-red horde drowning the Flamescar Plateau in a conquest that took generations and never once paused for breath. With the reality-parting axe in his fist and the monstrous flesh hound Grizzlemaw at his heel, Khul heaped the skulls of kings, priests, and heroes into a pyramid that grew with every fallen nation: a monument raised to buy the Blood God's ultimate reward.

By the eve of Sigmar's storm, that reward was one skull away. Khul had earned his ascension to daemonhood; the pyramid lacked only its capstone, the head of the last defiant chieftain of the plateau: a herdsman named Vendell Blackfist who simply would not die. At the moment of the killing stroke, lightning split the sky and snatched the dying man's soul to Azyr. The pyramid stands unfinished to this day, and Korghos Khul, greatest of Khorne's mortal champions, learned what it is to be robbed by the heavens themselves.

The stolen soul came back. It returned as Vandus Hammerhand, first-forged of the Stormcast Eternals, and the feud between the two has become one of the defining blood-debts of the age: warlord and storm-knight clashing again and again across the Realmgate Wars, neither able to keep the other dead. Therein lies the joke Khorne seems to savour: a Stormcast's soul flees to Azyr the instant the body falls, making Vandus's the one skull in all the realms that cannot simply be taken. Khul's hunt is therefore eternal, his rage bottomless, and his pyramid still waiting.
