Sarghath the Ascended

Sarghath the Ascended is what every Chaos champion prays to become and almost none survive to be: a mortal who walked the Path to Glory to its very end and was lifted, at the final step, into the ranks of the Daemon Princes. For a lifetime of measured slaughter, of skulls tallied and oaths kept and rivals torn down, the Dark Gods reached down and remade him: clad in immortal flesh, crowned with horns, and given wings the colour of a battlefield sky at dusk.

Where lesser lords still crave the gods' favour, Sarghath has it, and the certainty has made him merciless. He leads a great host of Slaves to Darkness across the realms, drawn always toward the places where new champions are rising, for he cannot abide a mortal who reaches for the exaltation he already wears. Such upstarts he hunts down and destroys, less from duty than from a jealous need to remain unrivalled.

In battle he is a storm of daemon-forged steel and sorcery, striking from the air to behead the mighty before they can fulfil their promise. Sarghath remembers his own long climb, and having reached the summit, he means to pull the ladder up behind him, one slain aspirant at a time.
