Magister

A Magister is a mortal sorcerer-lord of the Arcanite cults, one of the scheming human masterminds who direct the earthly designs of the Disciples of Tzeentch. Having bargained away his humanity piece by piece in exchange for occult knowledge, a Magister wields formidable powers of transmutation and illusion, and commands the Kairic Acolyte covens that plot in the shadows of a hundred cities. In battle he is a duellist of magic, hurling searing bolts, turning enemies to gibbering spawn with a gesture, and shrouding himself in shifting glamours that make him fiendishly hard to strike. Yet the Magister's true weapon is his cunning, for every plan he sets in motion conceals three others, and his defeats are as often feigned as his victories are stolen. He walks a razor's edge, for the power he craves is slowly consuming him, and the same gifts that raise him above other mortals will, in the end, either exalt him to daemonhood or dissolve him into a mindless Chaos Spawn. To a true Magister, that gamble is simply the cost of touching the infinite.
