Chaos Spawn

Chaos Spawn are the Path to Glory's other destination. When the gifts of the gods come too fast, or the gods grow bored, or a champion's frame simply runs out of room for blessing, the change cascades: bones fork, mouths open where no mouths should be, and within minutes something that once had a name is an avalanche of flesh, claw, and tentacle with no mind left to scream with.

The hordes do not put them down. Spawn are herded, goaded, and driven ahead of the battle-line, where their thrashing bulk soaks up arrows and breaks formations: useful, disposable, and instructive. Every warrior who marches past one is looking at his own possible future, and the wise ones do not look long. The gods consider this a form of teaching. The lesson, as always, is to climb faster.
