Chaos Spawn

A Chaos Spawn is what the Dark Gods make of a favourite who is given too much. Every warrior of the north dreams of ascension, of enough favour, enough skulls, enough glory to be raised to daemonhood, but favour is a poison as often as a prize, and the champion who draws too many gifts too fast is drowned in them. Bone flows like wax, limbs multiply and wither, faces surface and sink in a body that has forgotten what it was ever meant to be, until nothing remains but a shapeless, agonised mass of appetite that flails toward anything living. The gods keep such creatures anyway, herding them to war as a warning and a weapon both, for a Spawn feels no fear and no pain and simply will not stop. To the warriors marching beside it, the Spawn is a lesson worn in flesh: the ladder of Chaos has no safe rung, and the gods watch every climb with the same hungry, indifferent interest.
