Sisters of the Thorn

The Sisters of the Thorn are a sisterhood of handmaidens and sorceresses devoted to the darker mysteries of Athel Loren, riding to war on swift steeds with venom-thorned javelins in hand and old magic at their command. They serve the enchantress-queens of the forest as spell-weavers and guardians, and in battle they blend the mobility of light cavalry with the power of the arcane, wheeling about the enemy while calling upon the winds of magic. Their enchantments shield the elven host from harm and mend the wounds of forest spirits, while their curses lash out with crackling force, withering the foe and turning the wild magic of the wood against those who dare intrude upon it. Beautiful, secretive, and not a little sinister, they walk a path closer to the forest's cruel heart than most elves care to tread. Where the Sisters of the Thorn ride, the very air grows thick with sorcery, thorned vines seem to writhe at the edge of sight, and the enemy finds his strength failing and his wounds refusing to close.
