In a city that reveres the art of killing above all else, she is its greatest living artist, drawing sell-out crowds to the great amphitheatres and holding them spellbound as she dispatches wave after wave of doomed opponents with a grace that verges on the divine.
Her confidence in her own lethality is so absolute that she goes into battle almost entirely unarmoured, clad in little more than her own perfection and a handful of exquisite blades. This is no reckless vanity but a calculated statement: Lelith has never needed protection, because nothing has ever managed to touch her. She reads an opponent's intentions in the flicker of a muscle, sidesteps killing blows with contemptuous ease, and answers every attack with a flurry of razored counterstrokes that leave her foes dismembered before they comprehend that the exchange is over.
Among the Drukhari it is whispered that Lelith has found a purer path to immortality than the rest of her kind. Where others must drink deep of captured misery to hold back the withering of their souls, Lelith is said to sustain herself through the perfect ecstasy of the kill itself, feeding on the fear and adoration of the arena so completely that she remains eternally young and beautiful while her rivals must resort to cruder means. Whether or not this is true, she has certainly outlasted generations of pretenders to her crown.
Lelith's authority over the Cult of Strife is total, her word law to legions of Wyches who worship her as the embodiment of their creed. Yet she cares little for the political games that consume the Archons; her ambitions begin and end in the arena, where she seeks not power but the impossible perfection of the next flawless kill. She has clashed with the mightiest warriors the galaxy can offer and walked away without a scratch, and each such victory only burnishes her legend further. To face Lelith Hesperax in single combat is to have already lost; the only question that remains is how long, and how beautifully, she will choose to prolong the ending.
