The Staff of Light

The Staff of Light is at once a weapon and an emblem of dominion among the Necrons, borne by the overlords and nobles who command the awakening dynasties. From its crowned head streams a torrent of searing energy, capable of scything down infantry and cracking armoured hulls with contemptuous ease.

Wrought from the living metal necrodermis in ages before the rise of mankind, the staff endures as flawless now as when first forged, its ancient technologies undimmed by the passage of sixty million years. To bear one is to hold both the means of destruction and the outward sign of authority, a mark that the wielder commands the loyalty of the tomb-legions below.

When a Necron lord raises the Staff of Light, its radiance falls upon the enemies of the dynasty like a judgement from a forgotten age. The living dead of the tomb worlds march behind that light without fear and without mercy, and those who face it learn that the empires of flesh are but a passing season to a race that has waited eons to reclaim the galaxy that was once theirs.
