Legion Outrider Squad

In the hands of the Alpha Legion, the Legion Outrider Squad became an instrument of misdirection as much as mobility. Ranging across the battlefield on swift attack bikes, the XX's Outriders fed an enemy exactly the picture the Legion wished him to see, feigning the vanguard of an assault that did not exist, exposing a flank that was in truth a baited trap, and drawing a foe's reserves toward ground his infiltrators had already seeded with ruin. When the moment came they struck like any other bike squadron, twin bolters raking an enemy's line, but even their violence served the larger deception. The Alpha Legion never showed a foe the whole shape of a battle until it was too late to matter, and the Outriders were among its most versatile masks: scouts, decoys, and executioners by turns. An enemy who chased them believing he had found the Legion's spearhead learned, far too late, that he had merely been herded to his death.
