Archon

The Archon sits at the apex of a Kabal, a Drukhari noble who has clawed their way to absolute authority over one of Commorragh's pirate empires. No Archon reaches such a height by chance. Each has survived centuries of assassination, betrayal, and political warfare, outmanoeuvring every rival through a combination of ruthlessness, patience, and near-supernatural cunning. To hold the position is to command vast armadas and untold wealth; to keep it is to exist in a state of perpetual, exhausting vigilance, for the same ambition that raised the Archon burns in every subordinate below.

An Archon goes to war swathed in the finest wargear the Dark City can provide: shimmering protective fields, exotic pistols, and blades envenomed with agonizing toxins. Many carry esoteric weapons of alien manufacture or archaic Aeldari craft, each a treasure hoarded across long lifetimes of plunder. They are never without a retinue of deadly protectors, often hiring Incubi to shield them from the daggers of their own kind.

On the battlefield an Archon leads from the spearpoint of the raid, directing the harvest of captives with cold precision and personally slaying any foe worthy of the honour. They embody every quality that defines the Drukhari elite: exquisite taste, boundless cruelty, and an unshakeable belief in their own supremacy. Above all, an Archon understands that in Commorragh, power is the only currency that matters, and that suffering, the suffering of others, is the coin with which that power is forever purchased.
