Hemlock Wraithfighter

The Hemlock Wraithfighter is among the most unsettling war-craft the craftworlds send to battle, a wraithbone flyer piloted not by a living Aspect Warrior but guided by a spiritseer who communes with the souls bound within its hull. Where the Crimson Hunter is a screaming predator, the Hemlock is a ghost, gliding slow and silent above the carnage with an air of terrible, funereal calm.

Its armament is drawn from the wraith-constructs of the dead: heavy energy scythes that unleash rifts of tearing force, dissolving flesh and spirit together. Worse still is the mindshock pod it carries, a device that projects raw psychic terror into the minds of those below, so that soldiers break and flee, or simply stand paralysed as death drifts down upon them.

To see a Hemlock approach is to feel one's courage drain away like water through cupped hands. It brings not the clean fury of battle but a creeping, grave-cold despair, and the wailing of the trapped souls within its frame lingers in the ears of survivors long after the wraithfighter has melted back into the mist.
