Rampager Squad

A Rampager Squad is close-assault butchery distilled into a single formation, World Eaters who have given themselves so wholly to the charge that they no longer carry ranged weapons worth the name. Armed with chainaxes, falax blades, and whatever else bites deepest, they exist for the moment of impact, the collision of bodies where the Butcher's Nails sing loudest and the killing is close enough to feel. They do not hold ground, guard flanks, or wait; every instinct the Nails have left them screams to close the distance and open the enemy, and a Rampager who is denied that release turns his fury on the nearest available target with little care for whose banner it bears. In the Legion's headlong wars they are the tip of the spear, thrown at whatever strongpoint most needs breaking, trusted to do the one thing no World Eater can any longer refuse to do.
