Necron Warriors

Necron Warriors form the backbone of nearly every dynasty's military strength, vast ranks of skeletal metal soldiers that rise from stasis crypts to answer their overlord's call. Once these were living necrontyr, but so much time has passed and so much of their identity was stripped away in the transition to immortality that little remains of the individuals they used to be. What is left is a soldier stripped to its essential function: advance, fire, endure, and if necessary, be rebuilt and sent forward again.

Their gauss weaponry strips matter away atom by atom, a slow disintegration that reflects the same patient inevitability the necrons apply to war itself. Warriors advance in disciplined, unhurried lines, untroubled by casualties that would break the morale of any living army, because a fallen Warrior is rarely gone for good. Necrodermis bodies self-repair, and the arcane reclamation processes of a tomb world can restore a warrior from wreckage that would be a mercy kill for any organic soldier.

It is this uncanny resilience, more than any individual warrior's skill, that makes necron infantry so dreaded on the battlefield. An enemy line can shatter a formation of Warriors only to watch survivors rise again moments later, joints realigning and photon eyes flickering back to a cold green light, as implacable as before.
