Legion Outrider Squad

A Legion Outrider Squad mounted the Eighth Legion's cruelty on roaring war-bikes, swift enough to ride the edges of a battle and pen a fleeing enemy wherever the Night Lords wished him driven. They ranged ahead of the main assault through the dark, scouting, ambushing, and running down stragglers, their engines snarling out of the black to scatter a formation and then wheeling away before it could answer. The Night Lords used them as a hunter uses hounds, not merely to kill but to herd, turning an enemy's panic against him and steering his rout straight into the guns of the Legion's heavier arms. There was a calculated malice in the way they harried the broken, drawing out the terror rather than ending it cleanly. Through the Heresy the Outriders of the Night Haunter's Legion prowled the roads of conquered worlds, the swift and mocking edge of a Legion that hunted the mind before the body.
