Night Scythe

The Night Scythe is a necron transport-flyer, its winged silhouette casting a scythe-shaped shadow that mortals have learned to dread. Unlike the crude troop-carriers of younger races, it does not hold soldiers within a cramped hold. Instead its central aperture cradles a controlled tear in space, a dimensional corridor anchored to the tomb-worlds and stasis-crypts far below. Warriors summoned through this rent step from the dust of a distant sepulchre onto the killing field in the same heartbeat, deployed wherever the flyer wills. Above, a tesla weapon lashes enemy aircraft and infantry alike with forking lightning. The Night Scythe strikes from nowhere, disgorges its deathless cargo, and banks away into the smoke before defenders can react, its passengers already advancing with cold purpose. Should the craft be destroyed, those still caught mid-transit are scattered across the corridor and lost, but such losses trouble the Necrons not at all, for there are always more of the dead to send.
