Ork Weirdboy

Weirdboyz are the psykers of the Ork race, though they experience their gift less as a power than as an affliction. Every Ork constantly gives off a low background hum of psychic energy, and a Weirdboy acts as a living sponge for it, unwillingly soaking up the gestalt aggression of every greenskin nearby. The more Orks around him, and the more worked up they become, the more that energy floods into the Weirdboy, building toward a discharge he can neither fully control nor safely contain.

When a Weirdboy finally lets go, the results are spectacular and wildly unpredictable. He might vomit a blast of green Waaagh! lightning that reduces an enemy to steaming slop, or find himself abruptly teleported halfway across the battlefield, or blink an entire mob of Boyz into the thick of the fighting. The one outcome every Weirdboy dreads is the Eadbang, which strikes when the pressure builds faster than he can vent it: his head simply detonates, and often takes the heads of the Orks standing closest to him along with it.

Because of this, Weirdboyz occupy an uneasy place in greenskin society, prized for the devastation they can unleash and given a wide, nervous berth the rest of the time. A Warboss will happily march a Weirdboy to war, since a well-timed eruption of Waaagh! power can shatter an enemy line in an instant, but few Orks care to stand beside one when the psychic charge starts to build behind his bulging, twitching eyes.
