Zephyrim Squad

Only a Sister who experiences a direct and unceasing communion with the God-Emperor may be raised into the Zephyrim. So overwhelming is this constant rapture that many lose the ability to speak with their comrades in any ordinary tongue, uttering instead strings of unknown words that the Sisterhood believes to be prophecy, intelligible only to those whose own faith runs deep enough to unlock them. They exist in a state of ecstatic transport, more vessel than woman, their every action guided by a voice the rest of the Order can only strain to hear.

Given wings by their jump packs, the Zephyrim descend upon the enemy as divine executioners, seeking out those whose wickedness most offends the faith and cleaving a righteous path straight toward them. Each carries a bolt pistol and a power sword, and in their hands these become instruments of judgement rather than mere weapons, hewing down the unclean with a passion that borders upon the transcendent. There is nothing tentative in a Zephyrim assault; it is faith made velocity, delivered blade-first into the foe.

At the heart of many squads flies a Sacred Banner, borne aloft by a Zephyrim Superior. More than a rallying point, this holy standard seems to quicken the Sisters around it, lending fresh speed and fury to their advance so that they fall upon the enemy faster and strike harder than any mortal warrior should be able to.
