Not every threat to a Shield Host's objective stands still and waits to be killed, and it is the Vertus Praetors who ensure that fleeing or maneuvering does an enemy no good at all. Mounted upon Dawneagle jetbikes, war machines as ancient and precisely maintained as any relic in the Custodians' care, these warriors trade the measured advance of their infantry kin for blistering speed, closing distances in moments that would take an ordinary formation an entire engagement to cross.

A Praetor's lance and pistol are built for the killing pass, a single devastating strike delivered at full speed before wheeling away to line up the next. Deployed to run down fleeing warlords, silence artillery batteries, or simply be wherever the battle turns worst before anyone else can arrive, the Vertus Praetors give a Shield Host the reach to dictate a battle's shape rather than merely react to it.
