Legion Storm Eagle Gunship

The Legion Storm Eagle Gunship was a heavily armoured assault craft able to carry a full squad through punishing fire and set it down in the heart of the enemy, and the Word Bearers flew it as a descent of the faithful from on high. Its hull marked with the sacred script of Colchis, a Storm Eagle of the XVII would scream out of the sky to disgorge Terminators, Gal Vorbak, or a knot of chanting zealots exactly where their fury would count for most, its heavy weapons scouring the ground even as the ramps fell. To Lorgar's Legion the gunship was scripture made manifest, deliverance arriving on roaring engines to visit the wrath of the gods upon the unbeliever. Pilots flew them with the certainty of men who believed their cause blessed, plunging into anti-air fire that would have deterred a more cautious Legion. Where a Word Bearers Storm Eagle passed overhead, damnation was moments from touching down.
