Ghorgon

The ghorgon is what happens when a bullgor's hunger outgrows its body and the body decides to keep up. Swollen to the height of a watchtower, it walks on legs like tree trunks and swings four arms, several ending in cleavers of jagged bone, all of them serving a distended maw that can swallow an armoured warrior in a single convulsive gulp.

Warherds do not command a ghorgon; they aim it, goading the monster with spears and starvation until battle offers it something better to eat. Loosed at the enemy, it eats a road through regiments, gorging as it goes and growing stronger with every red mouthful. The herd feasts well in a ghorgon's wake: from a distance, and only after it has slouched away sated.
