Akhelian Allopex

The allopex is proof that the Idoneth tame nothing gently. A deep-water predator of appalling appetite, it is taken young, bound in hooked harness, and ridden by Akhelian hunters who aim it at the enemy the way other armies aim artillery. Its crew loose razorshell harpoons as it comes, less to kill than to put blood in the water.

What follows is not cavalry work but feeding. An allopex strike shears through shield-walls, gunlines, and rival monsters alike, and the beast's embittered fury at its own bondage makes it crueler than anything born should be. Akhelian crews speak of their sharks with wary respect, and never, ever with affection.
