Akhelian Emissary

The Akhelian Emissary is the voice of the enclaves abroad, a trusted envoy who carries the edicts and alliances of the Idoneth between the scattered, secretive kingdoms of the deep. In a race so isolated and mistrustful, the role demands both diplomacy and menace, for an emissary must broker the fragile pacts that let the enclaves survive while never revealing the hidden strength, or hidden weakness, of those who sent them.

Yet the Emissary is no mere messenger. When words fail and the tides turn to war, they take their place among the Akhelian nobility, a swift and deadly warrior who fights with the same cold precision that marks all the deep-aelf martial caste. Among the Idoneth Deepkin they are a bridge across the loneliness that defines their people, knitting distant enclaves into something that can, when threatened, strike as one. An Emissary's arrival at a foreign court may herald an alliance or a reckoning, and few can tell which until the deepkin choose to reveal it, for the same envoy who speaks of peace may, come the next tide, guide the raid that empties a kingdom of its souls.
