Praetors

Praetors are the chosen guardians of the Stormhosts, veterans sworn to shield the lives of Lord-Celestants and heroes when the killing press grows thickest. Bearing towering sigmarite halberds and greatblades, they position themselves with grim foresight, always a half-step ahead of the blow meant for the one they protect.

To be named a Praetor is among the highest honours a Stormcast can receive, for it is a bond of absolute trust: the commander must charge without a backward glance, certain that the wall of their bodyguard will not break. Among the Stormcast Eternals they are watchful where others are eager, patient where others burn, spending their fury only when a threat reaches for their charge. Many have thrown themselves bodily into the path of monsters and daemon-blades, buying with their own reforging the moments their leaders needed to turn a battle. Where the Praetors stand, a hero stands, and the enemy learns that some lives are guarded by an unbreakable oath.
