A Night Goblin Squig Herd is less a unit than a controlled accident. Squigs are creatures of the deep caves, near-spherical balls of gristle and appetite, all cavernous fanged mouth and stubby legs, bred and half-tamed by the Night Goblins who share their damp tunnels. They cannot truly be commanded, only pointed, so the goblin herders surround them with prodders and jabbing spears, keeping the ravenous things bunched and moving forward for fear of what happens if they stop. Loosed at the foe, the herd bounds into the enemy in a gnashing tide, biting through greaves, shields, and the occasional inattentive herder with equal enthusiasm. It is a weapon that terrifies its own side almost as much as the enemy, which the Night Goblins consider a fair trade, since they were terrified anyway. When the squigs are up and bouncing, the herders simply try very hard to stay behind them.
