Sly Marbo

Sly Marbo is a soldier apart, a product of the deadliest death world in the galaxy who has taken the Catachan gift for survival and violence to an almost supernatural extreme. He carries an arsenal of lethal weapons, chief among them a wicked blade that has become as legendary as the man who wields it, and he uses the terrain itself as a weapon, appearing and vanishing like a phantom. Entire enemy formations have been paralysed by the knowledge that a single unseen killer stalks their ranks.

So elusive is Marbo that his very existence is a matter of debate. He appears without warning at the heart of the fiercest fighting, accomplishes feats that beggar belief, and disappears before he can be properly seen, leaving behind only corpses and rumour. Soldiers who claim to have fought alongside him tell contradictory tales, and some quartermasters insist he was declared dead more than once, only to resurface on some distant front. Whether he is one man or a legend built from many, the effect is the same: the name Marbo strikes fear into the enemies of the Imperium.

What is certain is that Sly Marbo represents an extreme rarely seen even among the hardened killers of Catachan. He is the ultimate lone predator, a man for whom war is not duty but nature, and who needs neither comrades nor commanders to visit ruin upon the foe.
