The Sisters of Silence are drawn from a rare and dreaded breed: women born without a soul the Warp can perceive, presences that the wider populace instinctively shuns. Where such Untouchables walk, the light of the Empyrean dims. Psykers find their powers choked to nothing, and daemons scream in torment at their approach.
Bound by a vow of silence as absolute as their soullessness, the Sisters communicate through gesture, ritual, and a battle-tongue of signs. In war they are disciplined and merciless, but their deadliest weapon is invisible: the crushing absence they carry, a void that can unravel the concentration of even the mightiest sorcerer.
The sisterhood serves the Imperium as wardens and slayers of the psychically damned. They guard forbidden prisoners, escort captured witches to their fates, and stand as a bulwark wherever the powers of the mind threaten to tip a war into ruin. When the Sisters of Silence take the field beside an Inquisitor, it is a certain sign that a witch of dreadful potency has become the object of the hunt.
