Legio Astorum, the Warp Runners, is a Legio of proud and ancient lineage, renowned for the swiftness of its deployments and its uncanny record of arriving upon the battlefield at the decisive hour. Time and again the Warp Runners have made planetfall just as a war hangs in the balance, their god-engines striding from the smoke to turn imminent defeat into hard-won victory. This gift for timely intervention has become the stuff of legend, and the Legio wears the name Warp Runners with fierce pride.
The god-engines of Astorum march in heraldry of deep blue and brilliant gold, adorned with the star and comet motifs that mark the Legio's celestial character. Its Princeps are bold and adaptable, favouring rapid, decisive strikes over grinding attrition, and the Legio is often held in reserve to be committed at the moment of greatest need.
Astorum has fought across the length and breadth of the Imperium, standing beside the Astra Militarum and the Adeptus Astartes in campaigns beyond counting. Its god-engines have broken sieges, shattered xenos war-hosts, and held the line against the horrors that pour from the Great Rift.
