The Militarum Tempestus

The Militarum Tempestus is the elite storm-trooper arm of the Imperial war machine, its Tempestus Scions counted among the finest soldiers to serve alongside the Astra Militarum. Drawn as orphans and taken into the Schola Progenium, they are raised from childhood in an environment of fanatical discipline, faith and martial training, emerging as warriors of unshakeable loyalty to the Emperor.

Clad in distinctive carapace armour and armed with hot-shot lasguns capable of punching through power armour, the Scions strike where ordinary Guardsmen cannot. They deploy by Valkyrie gunship or grav-chute insertion, plunging from the skies to seize objectives, assassinate enemy commanders and hold ground against impossible odds. Their operations are swift, precise and utterly without mercy.

Unlike the massed regiments of the common Guard, the Tempestus Scions are a scalpel rather than a hammer. Their regiments are dispatched to the galaxy's most critical warzones, elite shock troops who embody the Imperium's demand for perfection in war. Where they descend, the enemy's plans unravel and its leaders die.
