Varagyr Wolf Guard

The Varagyr Wolf Guard were the chosen of Leman Russ himself, the most storied killers of the Sixth Legion gathered into a single terrible brotherhood and clad in the finest Terminator war-plate the Rout could muster. Each had earned his place through deeds worthy of saga, and each was bound by oath to march wherever the Wolf King walked, be it triumph or grave.

In battle the Varagyr were a wall of storm-grey ceramite bristling with axe and claw and blade, an anchor of raw power around which the swifter packs could wheel and strike. Where lesser warriors might waver, the wolf guard did not, for to break faith at their king's side was a shame no son of Fenris could bear. At Prospero and through the wars of the Heresy that followed, the Varagyr were the iron core of Russ's every assault, the last thing many an enemy champion ever saw.
