Hernkyn Pioneers

Not every Kin is content within the sealed holds of their League. Some are drawn irresistibly to the frontier, to the open void and the thrill of the uncharted claim, and it is from these restless souls that the ranks of the Hernkyn Pioneers are drawn. Mounted on rugged grav-bikes capable of skimming across any terrain, the Pioneers serve as the scouts, outriders, and forward hunters of the Oathband.

Pioneers range far ahead of the main force, their advanced sensor arrays sweeping the battlefield and its approaches, marking enemy positions and relaying targeting data back to the Kâhls who direct the League's firepower. When the moment is right they strike, loosing magna-coil and rotary fire to shred exposed infantry and light vehicles before accelerating away before an enemy can bring their guns to bear.

Though they range widely and fight with a swagger uncommon among the pragmatic Kin, the Pioneers remain bound by the same oaths as any Hearthkyn. Their independence serves the League, their reconnaissance shapes its battles, and their daring is tallied and rewarded like any other service rendered to hold and Ancestors.
