Tzaangor Enlightened

Among the beastmen of the Thousand Sons, those the Legion names Tzaangors, a favoured few are lifted above their brethren by the gift of foresight, and these are the Enlightened. Mounted upon Discs of Tzeentch, they skim above the battlefield with the future unspooling before their eyes, forever aware of the flow of causality and the myriad paths that a single moment might yet take.

This precognition makes them warriors of uncanny lethality. An Enlightened perceives exactly where and when a strike will fall to greatest effect, and looses his blow at that instant, so that his divining spear finds the gap in the armour, the turn of the head, the fatal heartbeat of hesitation. Some of these spears are attuned to a chosen victim, humming ever louder as they near the one whose death has already been written, until the killing thrust arrives less as the chance of battle than as the fulfilment of a prophecy.

The mightiest of the Enlightened, who lead their fellows to war, bear the title of Aviarch. Under such champions the disc-riders wheel and dive as a single organism, each strike coordinated by shared visions of the seconds to come, cutting down the enemy's leaders and stealing away before retaliation can land. To face them is to fight an enemy who has already seen the battle's end, and who moves only to ensure that it comes to pass.
