Ungors

Ungors are what the herd calls those born short of horn: smaller, scrawnier beastfolk with mean eyes and meaner luck, issued the worst weapons and the worst places in the battle-line. They screen the gors with hedges of crude spears, soak up the enemy's first volleys, and are mourned by absolutely no one, least of all each other.

What ungors lack in strength they carry in spite. Bullied by everything above them, they are crueler than their bigger kin to everything below, and their raids linger longest where the victims are weakest. Yet the herd's law cuts both ways: an ungor who survives enough battles, takes enough trophies, and grows enough horn may yet shove his way up the herd, and none fight more viciously, because none have more to escape.
