Myrmourn Banshees

The Myrmourn Banshees are among the strangest of the Nighthaunt processions, wretched spirits condemned for the crime of speaking words of despair against Nagash himself. Cursed with an insatiable hunger, they now feed upon magic, drawn to arcane power the way carrion-birds are drawn to the dying. In battle they swoop upon incoming spells and swallow them whole, unravelling enchantments and snuffing out sorceries before they can strike, growing stronger with each mouthful of stolen power. Their gaunt, keening forms wield chill greatblades of frozen ice, and any warrior they cut down feels the very warmth leached from their body. The Myrmourn covet magical weapons and artefacts above all else, and will cluster ravenously around any bearer of enchanted steel. To wizards they are a particular terror, for the Banshees turn a mage's greatest strength into a beacon that draws them ever nearer. Silent but for the chattering of their teeth, the Myrmourn drift across the battlefield in an endless search for power to consume.
