Locus

The Locus is a bodyguard without peer, a hybrid grown to shield the Magus and the other senior figures of a cult's brood coven with its own body and blades. More than a mere protector, it serves as its master's eyes and ears, a silent, watchful presence that misses nothing and forgets less, forever poised at the shoulder of the one it is sworn to keep alive.

What makes the Locus so deadly is the contrast between its stillness and its speed. It can hold a sombre, statue-like immobility for hours on end, seeming almost inert, then explode into a blur of motion in the space of a single heartbeat, the sudden eruption of violence as shocking as it is fatal. With reflexes to rival a purestrain Genestealer, it can match even a Craftworld Aeldari Exarch blade for blade, a duellist of terrifying quality.

Beneath its robes the Locus conceals its true nature, small but powerful hidden limbs tucked tight against its body and a long segmented tail tipped with a curling toxinspike, weapons it reveals only in the instant it strikes. Any assassin, champion or hero who thinks to cut down a cult's leadership must first get past the Locus, and precious few who try are ever granted the chance to try a second time.
